As it is server side, no special actions are needed for Forms. Towards the client side this works entirely transparant.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I mean to say , that 10g Database can be installed in a cluster of Servers , so that the clients may not come to know which 'Server' system is processing their query or sql statement. Does the Forms10g also works in the same way, it can be installed , so that the Forms10g server spans across a cluster of 'Servers' and serves the request of the client machines. you mean to say that there is no need to install Forms10g in client machines, all the clients will be accessing it directly from the server through web interface.

And does Forms10g only have Web interface ?

Thanks and Regards,

Nirmal N.

10g uses n-tier architecture - basically 3-tier plus bits. The DB can be RAC and the Application Server (AS) can also be RAC. The Forms run on the AS NOT the DB. Forms (current generations) require the installation of a JInitiator which is downloaded to the client the first time that they start the Forms based application. This must be accepted by the user. It is a once-off activity. If you MUST have a zero install client then look at HTMLDB from Oracle, it is a charge-free part of 10g.
