I have installed Oracle 10g and forms 10g on my laptop and when trying to run a form it complains about not having a web client...

Last time I used forms it was a straightforward compile and then run.

Any ideas on what I need to do and how I go about getting the web client installed.?

Thanks guys.
Rob

There should be an "Start OC4J" in the forms node on your start menu (assuming you're on Windows). I don't have Forms near me, but I think starting the OC4J service is enough.

Does this help you? As I said, I don't have any Forms installation around so the best bet is to search the board...

Confirm the following

  2. Both Oracle homes have alligned TNSNAMES.ORA files
  3. You have read the link provided and it didn't help.

Answer:
1) Yes - it is running.
2) Yes - have copied the local DB TNSNAMES and written into Dev home location
3) Yes - I read but no help.

When running form I get the following URL:
http://ls009827.tmousersuk.ad.t-mobile.co.uk:1521/forms/frmservlet

and the following web page:

The page cannot be displayed
There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

Please try the following:

Open the ls009827.tmousersuk.ad.t-mobile.co.uk:1521 home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Click Search to look for information on the Internet.

Any other ideas?

Sorry, without any Forms near I can only do wild guesses.

I suggest you:
- search MetaLink if you have access.
- post this question at the Oracle forums (forums.oracle.com)

I will see if I can find any other possible causes.
