All,
I need urgent help. I have never been a developer before and never dealt with Forms or reports. My developer asked me if 6i forms and reports running on client server architecture, so Oracle stopped supporting client server any way. What is the alternate solution? Upgrade to 9iAS? Can any one please tell me the difference between Client/Server and 9iAS? We are current on 9i database.

Thanks,
Rick

There should be threads on this subject. We should also create a FAQ on this subject.

You can either upgrade to 9i/10g or run without support. C/S is your application running directly against the database, 3-tier is your application in a browser running against an application server, which builds the browser pages, and that accesses the database.

Go to the Oracle Forms site listed in the sticky and there are white papers on this subject.
